“I could not exercise my
upper body without periodically injuring my
shoulder. When it was determined that I had a
shoulder impingement, I started physical therapy
with First Colony Aquatic and Rehab Center. I now
know how to prevent further injury to my shoulder
and what exercises will help me to strengthen my
rotator cuff muscles. I appreciate the care and
guidance received from First Colony personnel and
would recommend them to others. Thank you for
helping me identify the problem and solve it!” (L.J.)
“When I started therapy
I had difficulty getting out to places and lying
position on my right side. At the end of therapy, I
can now do it rather easily. At first I could not
do the Figure 4 stretch with my right leg, and now I
can. Overall, I’m thankful for Dr. Wood
recommending PT. I feel much more flexible.” (A.D.)
“Physical Therapy helps
me greatly. My range of motion improved after the
sessions of therapy. I’m very pleased with the
effective exercise and stretches provided by the
therapist here. The results are awesome!” (J.C.)
“I have learned how to
properly move in work related situations. I also
learned how to avoid and minimize the pain when a
flare-up occurs. I believe my therapy has been
extremely helpful. The only regret that I have is
that wish I would have had this training many years
ago. The staff is very helpful and extremely
professional. I am very impressed with their
thoroughness.” (F.T.)
“After surgery I was
petrified to begin PT! But as my previous experience
at First Colony taught me, Sean and staff are
excellent and I feel back to normal, if not better
than new!” (M.F.)
“When I came in (to
therapy) my knee that was operated on was painful
and very weak. Physiotherapy helped me come a long
way and I am now able to walk better. I am more
flexible and bending my knee is the only problem
right now. I have to continue to work on speed and
proper gait. I have acute pain in my lower back for
which few exercises have helped me. They are a very
friendly and welcoming staff. Thanks, I really
appreciate their help and patience with me when I
was unable to do a certain exercise. Thanks once
again to all the friendly staff.” (S. H.)
“Originally, I had lower
left sacral back pain that radiated down left leg. I
was unable to sit for long periods or even put pants
on. Today, I am 98% asymptomatic, and the exercises
have given me the tools to deal with pain. Therapy
has raised my self awareness of the condition, and I
will continue with the exercise program to
strengthen my back.” (W.S.)
“I had left hip
replacement, and before I started physical therapy,
I had a limp on the left side. Since I have been
attending physical therapy, my left hip is getting
stronger and my limp has minimized. Physical
therapy is really helping me” (A.D.)
“It was a night and day
experience for me. I was unable to roll over without
pain, and sleeping was difficult. I hurt all the
time. After therapy, I am able to maintain and
recover better if I start to hurt. The staff here
has been very helpful, and Jennifer is great. I am
very thankful for all of the knowledge they have
passed on.” (V.T.)
“Before coming to First
Colony Aquatic, I thought I would never be able to
move my fingers again. But with the help and the
experience of the staff, I was to over come my
disability within 3 months.” (D.Z.)
“I originally had pain
in my lower back, knee, and right buttock. After two
injections and four weeks of therapy, I am pain
free. Learning the appropriate stretching techniques
and specific exercises allowed me to become more
disciplined. I attend a social gym 3-6 times per
week and will continue to do so in hopes of
maintaining the progress made in the past four
weeks.” (D.B.)
“Therapy has been very
beneficial in relieving leg, hip and back pain. This
program has addressed and managed my pain very well.
When I began the program I could not even bend over
to put my underwear on. Now I can do this with ease.
Overall, this exercise program has been very
helpful.” (G.W.)
“I have been pleased
with my therapy and I have improved tremendously.
The staff helped me so much and did not allow me to
rush into anything. They understood everything and
they answered all my questions. I was very pleased
with everyone. They even called me to see how I have
been doing. Keep up the good work and I will miss
you all. Thank you.” (F.W.)
“I have been getting
therapy for about 3 weeks now and I can honestly say
that I have been tremendously impressed. My ability
to lift my arm has improved a lot and I can do the
exercises without pain. All of the questions that I
had were answered in a way that I can understand.
They explained what was happening and what I can
expect.” (Y.P.)
“I had trouble with
muscle pain in my lower back and hips. I also had
problems with bending over, getting up and down,
putting shoes and socks on, and standing too long.
Since therapy started, my pain has reduced and my
movement is easier and less painful. I like the
stretching and firming exercises. I have good
“homework” that helps me a lot.” (P.T.)
“My leg pain got better
from the therapy sessions I received. The exercises
have helped me improve and I am able to get around
better. Though the pain is not totally gone, I am
able to get more relief from the pain. I now know
stretches that help alleviate the pain. I have
really benefited from the information provided and
the pain is more tolerable than before I started. I
thank the entire staff: Jen, Tracy, and Sean for all
their work and attention.” (P.S.)
